Turn off electricity to saniflo.Turn off water to toilet (normally an inline valve). Empty toilet bowl and cistern of water. Remove toilet, cistern. Disconnect inlet pipes to saniflo (careful as backed up water will flow out!).
Take out Saniflo (outside is normally good). Open up top with star driver and use a flat blade for the plastic retaining flaps.Be sure to wear rubber gloves to keep out germs from cuts etc on your hands.
Cover mains cables with plastic food bag and tape up. Use a solution of bleach / warm water, fill up the sanifo and leave for a while. Swish around and empty into a drain etc. I also use a hosepipe to make sure I get it really clean (esp under motor and float switch). Also check inlet pipe flappy bit and the actual pipes that connect to the saniflo
