05 ranger i unplug the fuel pump and check for power. on the pink with black strip wire i have power for about 3 sec. but when i plug it back in the pump doesnt turn on ''new'' pump also. can you help me?
How is the Ground sire form the pump it cannot run if the ground is bad make sure the ground is attached to the frame or body if you need to splice a new round wire into the existing one and create yourself a good ground make sure the place you ground it to is scraped clean down to bare metal. Please contact me and keep me updated so I may help you further if needed. Please rate this post
Since my last post have you verified the Ground? Just askin before you installed the new pump di by chance hook it up to a power source to check and see if it works? If you did there is a 90% chance that you burned it out. See running a electric fuel pump low on fuel or dry will burn it out it needs the fuel to cool itself. anyway once you get the truck running, keep at least 1/2 tank of fuel in at all times or risk loosing another pump
email me and let me know where you are with this problem and oh yea you need to use Factory Pump aftermarket seldom work don't let money dictate your repair quality is more important than price and Dealer Parts are updated and just better.Since my last post have you verified the Ground?
