06 11:40:08 Ver: 08.00.12 - 0301 Chipset: VIA 82C336 rev 0 SuperIO: Unknown Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC. Motherboard: K8V-VM ULTRA Above mentioned is my BIOS details. Recently I have replaced my 80 GB HDD with a new 250 GB SATA HDD due to the failure of 80 GB HDD. Now the system is very slow and a friend of mine told me that it may be due to BIOS problem. Can you please help me ?
I don't think you have a problem with the BIOS version but more likely with the settings. Please enter in the BIOS and be sure that under: main menu, ide configuration, Parallel ATA IDE controller is set up as Primary. Then you go under advance menu, Serial ATA IDE controller and be sure you don't have RAID.
Copy of the manual can be find here http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock754/k8v_vm_ultra/e2476_k8v-vm_ultra.pdf
Let's start with this checks and then let me know.
