10ft before it started making a grinding noise and and vibrating the front end with no movement. When I put the car in reverse it sounds like it readjusts its self and will operate normally while going backwards, put it back in drive ,2, or 1st and the problem still exist. Also, when in drive the speedometer goes up as if we were moving. Thank for your help

Good news is perhaps the transmission may have survived. Truth be told I don't think so though. Basically two scenarios. You destroyed a CV joint which I doubt by your description or you destroyed the sun gear.
