110vac capacity. The manual humidistat, which came with the humidifier is connected directly to the control wires coming out of the humidifier. Contact closure on the humidistat allows the humidifier to run as long as 110 is supplied to the dedicated socket via the humidifier control terminal on the furnace. Is this an acceptable way to wire the humidifier? I would have connected a 110vac relay to the furnace humidifier terminal and placed the n.o. contacts in series with the humidistat contacts and then connect to the humidifier control wires & connected the humidifier to a standard 110 outlet
You are absolutely thinking correctly....the humidifier should be running when ever the blower is running and the humidistat is not satisfied...in fact in some cases I have advised people even turn the fan switch on to run the blower longer to get more humidity in the air if needed....some furnaces do not have long enough run times to get enough water evaporated...
You have the idea of how it needs to go, so you should just go ahead and wire it up that way and you'll be glad you did!! You can get a relay for a few bucks and have a much better working system...
