I recently bought a John Deere HPX for my daughter. I started to charge the battery at 2 PM and was waiting until 7 AM the next day to let her play with her new tractor. Well, I go off to the grocery store about 4 PM, come back at about 4:45 PM to find my daughter and her dad using the tractor. I told him that he was supposed to wait the following morning to allow her to use the tractor and had him read the directions which specifically stated if you do not charge the battery for 18 hours, it will damage the battery.

What exactly will happen to the battery? And should I go and buy a new one?
