1969 John Deere 4020 won't start
When I turn the key, can hear the relay click but it won't start. I shorted across selenoid to start w/screwdriver. Do you have any suggestions on other possible cause(s) of the no-start problem?

Replace solonoid
I have a 790 that has been great and starts on the dime all the time including in the cold weather. The other day went to use the tractor after it has sit for about 2-3 months. Tractor started right up as usual, 1 hr use turned it off went back to start and nothing, including it would not turn over. Found a lose battery cable but had to jump start it with my truck. It started and ran for about 30 minutes and while idolling it shut down. Since then and charging the battery it will turn over but not fire. What I have done: Cleaned the air filter. Disconnected the air intake and tried starting but did not work.
Drained the fuel filter assembly and wiped it down but did not replace filter. FIlter does look dirty. Still did not start.
disconnected hose to pump to see if fuel was there and it was .
Currently draining the old fuel and replacing it but I do not think this is the problem since it was running fine before.
Any suggestions?
