1986 Nissan Skyline - Electrical Problems
G'day Fellas

Just bought an '86 Skyline R31. RB30 is running great, but i have some annoying electrical problems. Auxilary dash gauges drop in ind out in different combinations (volts, oil, fuel and temp) and the radio and power mirrors intermittently lose power (usually fixed by turning ignition off and then back on)

I am also experiencing occasional cold miss problems on startup (acts just like a flat spot, but obviously RB30's are fuel inj.) No head problems (not pressurising coolant or anything) and the engine problem may well be related to a sensor and nothing to do with the interior electrical problem but im not sure. Ive just repaired some rather severe rust in the roof turret right on the driver's A-Pillar, and i suspect water may have got down the pillar trim and into the fuse box on the lower RH dash panel, but in my experiene a corroded fuse terminal just stops working, period. unlike these gauges which work fine when they want to! also noticed sometimes the gauges will come back up one by one from not working after extended periods of driving. Main body earth is fine and i have no other elec problems on the vehicle. Any advice would be much appreciated-these gauge problems are really starting to tick me off but i dont want to rip the dash apart for no good reason.

Cheers!
Lucas
