The problem with my 1900 subaru was improper timing. The timing was adjusssted and that solved the problem. Thanks for your concern.
I'm thinking this might have something to do with yr air filter.Try opening yr air filter box taking out yr air filter and leaving it open for a bit and see if you still have the problem.If this solves the problem just replace yr air filter.
