1991 chrysler imperial driver side window stopped working. Heard a "Crack" when it happened. Motor still runs. Manually able to move window up and down smppthly
It sounds like the "tape drive" has broken inside the door. Chrysler used what is called a tape drive in that vehicle. The tape is really a piece of plastic that works with the window motor to raise and lower the window. You need to remove the inside door panel and replace the "tape". Once you repair the tape make sure there is nothing stopping the window from freely moving up and down, you don't want this to happen again.
