1992 ford ranger 3.0
I have a 1992 ford ranger xlt. 3.0 liter. The engine has fuel to the fuel rails getting spark but will not start. engine will crank continuously but will not fire. when key is turned to on position with engine off the fuel pump continues to run leading me to believe it could be flooding. but once the plugs are removed it seems the fuel injectors are not spraying. i drove the truck to where it's parked and it would not start again once shut off.

I was once pulling a trailer with a ranger when it suddenly lost power and the engine died. turns out the problem was with the fuel shut off inertia switch. the switch is supposed to activate in case of accident. on my model the inertia switch is located in the passenger side under the glove box. dont know where yours is located. once you find it, just push the button and see if it resets. good luck.
also called a fuel shut off valve which is to shut off the gas flow to the engine in case of a collision which happened to me in my 92. Mine was located under the dash where the pasengers toes would be, "under the carpet" there is a switch, press it. It should start. they can go off just from a hard jar or pothole as well.

Just because you hear the pump running does not mean it is supplying the correct pressure.Yoiu need to put a guage on it.I am not sure what the pressure is supposed to be for your truck.I am sure if you google fuel pressure you will find it.
