1993 volvo 240 series
I replaced both fuel pumps but the car wont start. I did so because It had to be towed for the same reason. It starts but for a few seconds when i put some gasoline in the carburator .

Does the engine have fire at the plugges if not it will not turn on the fuel pumps /replace all the fuses even if they look good/check smal lwire at batery that has the inline fuse in it for the pumps/
Fuse at battery is good place to start. Fuel pump relay under glove box can cause no power to pumps.
