1995 chev monte carlo high IDLE
When i bought my monte 3 years ago. It was "fine" but only 2000 miles later...It started high idling for a few minutes then to low or "correct idle". Now, Its high idling all the time like 1500rpm or so. Boy,...Im going through allot of brakes lately. I replaced the well-known problematic INTAKE GASKETS. but it did not solve the problem. I replaced the Idle air motor and throttle position sensor. Unfortunately, all of that has not solved anything . Now im thinking the EVAP system??????? Its definitly starting to get frustrating now.

What it basically sounds like is you have a vaccum leak. chances are either the vaccum line to the manifold is got a hole in it or your mps(manifold pressure sensor might be on the fritz) if you replaced the manifold gasket it was because you thought you were sucking air and you thought you were leaqning the fuel air mixture some how. take a look for the vaccum leak and i'm sure you will solve this problem... please rate this..thanks
Don't replace anymore parts yet.Do you have access to a scanner that can see live data? You need to have this scanned, checking the block learn , interrogator and the O2 sensors. This will let you know what the PCM is seeing and doing. Also check the maf sensor, the idle air temp and the coolant temp sensors. You might also check your fuel pressure and volume. At that point, you will have a better handle on whats happening. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, you can access the link to find a garage in your area who will help you.If you decide to continue with this and still need help, hit me back and include the engine size and we can go on from there.Good Luck.
