1996 Chevy 1500 transmission will not shift to forth gear. Will shift 1-3 every time and the torque converter will lock up. Replaced the two solenoids and added some Lucas to it.it will shift into forth every once and a while and it will for the entire drive cycle. Looked at the scanner and it will say I'm in 4th so IRA not the prndl. The a solenoid will go on in first off for second and 3rd but will not go back on for forth. Any help will be great if only to point me in the right place to fix if I need a rebuild. Thanks

It may very well be something as simple as a bent linkage. This can be verified by a mechanic that knows something about transmissions. If this is the case it would be very inexpensive to fix. Hopefully this is all it is. Have it checked.
No sorry thats not it. as I said the scanner will show me that when I'm in 1 manually it says I'm in 1 when in 2 says I'm in 2 and when manually in OD it says I'm in forth. And that is all correct but the trans will not shift into forth gear. OD is forth gear. it is a 460le trans. And I am a mechanic, just not an expert with the gm transmissions
