1996 Dodge Caravan 2.4 liter 312000 km Not enough heat from blower motor when set on maximum speed .The blower motor works well but only produces minimum heat . Changed water pump ,engine thermostat ,flush coolant, after this was done no significant improvement was noted . What is the likely cause for this problem to occur. ? I have notice two lines going to the heater core one supply the other return line from the engine compartment .One line seem to have some kind of device in the tube with an arrow pointing .Is the device some how restricting the coolant flow to the heater core?
The thing you are seeing in the hose is there because the vans had a problem with noise coming from the heater core so this is a resector that was installed in some to cure the noise. it might be your problem but you need to check and make sure that both heater hoses are hot, if one is hot and the other luke warm or cool than you need to replace the heater core, if both hoses are hot then check the blend door actuator in the dash, you can get to it by removing the glove box. it is a flat motor bolted to the heater box under the dash.the best way to locate it is to go buy one so you will know what you are looking for....GOOD LUCK if you need anything else just let me know
Does it affect the aircon also? have you checked whether you have a filter inside the car, usually behind the glove box. If the filter is full, then no air will pass thru... Just for starters.
i believe that your blower motor is slowly giving up the ghost. It is situated somewhere inside the dashboard. I believe that you have used it a lot over the years and the motor bearings are probably worn from the overuse. This would cause it to slow down and eventually stop,i believe that your blower motor is slowly giving up the ghost. It is situated somewhere inside the dashboard.
