1996 nissan quest runs good for the first 15-20 min
I guess that i should have mentioned that i changed the fuel filter and have used plenty of fuel treatment. this brings me to the point that this van wouldn't run right without the stp fuel treatment. i bought this van from my sister about a week ago. the only way that she could keep it running right was to pour plenty of stp treatment to it. i have tried this but it isn't working for me. i have even tried running the high grade gas. if it would run like it does for the first 15 min. it would be a great van.
thank you for your input. any more suggestions?

It does sound like a fuel pump, i am not 100 percent on that ,
as annoying as it is, u might have to start eliminating possible causes. also try checking your fuel pump relay fuse etc. another possibility check your fuel lines could be a blockage. fingers crossed
I have the opposite problem. When dead cold, I let the engine run for about 30 sec -1 minute and can drive away. If I drive 2 miles and then let the car sit for a few minutes, it will have an erratic idle for about 10 seconds when putting it in drive, engage hard and idle around 800 RPM. I have to let it run for about 1/2 minute to let the engine slow down to 750 in neutral and then I can put it in gear. I had a lot of driveablity problems before and changing the MAF sensor, the Idle Air Control Valve, the fuel pressure regulator and a tuneup helped. I still have a small stumble when accelerating from a stop on a grade. Fuel pump pressure goes from 34 to 40 when I open the throttle.
