1998 Honda oddysse blew a spark plug I want to use a heli coil to reseat the plug is there a thread size specific or any specifics I need to know when deciding what insert to buy

You will be looking for a plug thread specific heli coil and helicoil tap.
it should be metric and specific size
they are not the same as any other helicoil for general use
Just be sure you pay attention to the length. If you install one that is longer than the depth of the threads in the head, the piston will hit it and cause damage to the piston. Just ask for a spark plug repair kit.
