1998 range rover 4.6 HSE
There is a slow leak in the lines to the system. So after sitting a while my rover will go all the way down. After I started it up I was able to hear the compressor come on and after sevral minutes the system we fill up in the rover would go up.I was able to drive it and everything worked fine.
The other day I wanted to go for a ride, I started it up and waited for the system to fill up only this time it never did go up. I listend for the pump to come on and could hear it come on but after just a few seconds it would go back off. I was able to check the relay and the fuses under the hood and also the timer relay under the drivers seat I think all has checked out fine. when I did pull the timer relay the dash sensor beeped and said 35 Mph Max. and went back out after I put it back in. Is there another relay or sensor some where else that I have missed? Come some one please help me with this problem?

You need to look at the two (?) small hoses leading from the EAS system to the backwall of the engine compartment which continues downward to the four Air shocks.. Mine was crocked (from drying out) and was causing me similar problems. You may need to replace them or cut off the part that may be cracked and rejoin them, perhaps just around the juction connectors.
Firstly check which part is leaking, pipes to the air spring, the air spring, or the valve blocks. replace the faulty part, and the compressor. because the compressor is damaged already wit the constant pumping of air for the airspring. to check leak in the system use soap n water using a bottle with a spray head.
