1999 Ford Ranger with 4 wheel ABS. I replaced the brakes on all four wheels and the rear wheel cylinders. The rear brake lines were open individually for a very brief time, and bled conventionally. I would like to know if I still have to take the truck to a repair shop to get the ABS light reset

The brake pads and shoes are not elec., your abs light is on because your abs computer pick up a bad signal from one of your abs sensor's,, take it to any auto parts or some one like autozone where they can do a code reading and get back us with the code so we can help you diag. your trouble code.
Parts stores don't read anything except engine and transmission codes. Most garages will read the codes for free. No diagnostics.
No guarantee, but replacing the speed sensor, ABS sensor, controls shifting in automatics sensor, all in one sensor for under $20 brand new at the parts store may fix the problem.(only the abs light being on is described in this post, I can see that) ABS light will go out by its self when the issue is corrected or you can hard reset at the battery. If the problem still exist after a hard reset you still have a problem. This video also corrects abs light issue, If the sensor is the problem. Cheap, could be worth the $
