1st ger is grinding
Hi i have a grinding in first gear all others are fine and runs sweet as ever engine has had lots spent on it so i no its just first gear i need to replace can someone tell me what this should cost in a shop and how long this would take a pro to do so i can work out the cost per hour i do have some knoledge of engine but not enough to crack one in half thanks for your help its a kx 250 on a 2002 not 2003 as stated

Shop time would be around 3 hours @ roughly $58.00 per hour depending on where you live. Split cases remove and replace gear (if that is cause) plus shop materials would cost you in the $ 245.00 plus or minus range. If you have a good mechanic/honest it can be done for less or more depending on if it is indeed just the gear. Remember ! this is for current charges in my area. I have heard of shop rates pushing $70.00 per hr
