2 and still popped. The Sub was barely moving. No distortion. I just can't believe I would have been given a faulty sub from JL. They always check their products. I bought a box that was built to ported specs. Because I know the air space in a box can cause it to "bottom out" or whatever and sometimes cause it to pop. Even with that box being built to specs can the way the air space is formed make a difference? I took the sub out of the box and turned it on and it popped even with it turned down very low. Even if i tilted the sub so that it was not flat against a surface. I would just like to know some things that might cause that and maybe get someone who is more knowledgeable on the actual internal functions of the sub to give me their opinion
If you Wire the 13 w7 in parallel you get 0.75 ohms which this amp is incapable of handling, that's why your speaker is popping. Be carefull cause this setup could ruin both your amp and sub. You have to wire that sub in series so that the amp "sees" a 3 ohm load which it's best suited for.
