2 ton Rudd UBHC - 17J11NFA Heat unit from a closet where it is installed vertically with the return on top and the supply going out through the bottom, to the attic with it suspended horizontally. Will it work okay if I turn the coils so the "pan" is on the bottom? (It is not really a pan, but a sealed plastic piece that catches the condensation.) It does not appear the air flow will be the same??
Hi, the in door unit at the coil section are made to be reversed. If you can go to the a/c wholesale parts house that seel just the Rheem and Ruud units they can give you information on your unit and so on. They are a pain to suspend in the attic as you will also need a sheet metal pan made for you the size of the unit to put under it in case the evaporator coil ever ices up and runs over for it to catch the water. You just have to make sure that the ducks on on the right sides of the plenum left or right supply or the same with the return, left or right hand return. You will have to run you condensate line out side. Also dealing with the electrical. Yes it can be done. Let me know the outcome. Im leaving for work but will return at about 10 hours from now. Good luck, Shastalaker7
