black box is a relay. Should have 6 connections on bottom. 2 for coil, 2 for R&L in(amp side) and 2 for R&L out. Check DC offeset from the bottom of the board at the relay terminals on the amp side.

If DC looks good check for sound by connecting a junker speaker -ve to ground and +ve to amp side relay terminal.
