2. When I move the stitch length lever up higher, the stitches get even shorter. On the #1780, I cannot find the right kind of bobbin to match the kind that came with the machine. Is there a number or style for the plastic bobbin? I have looked at JoAnn's and there aren't any that match. Also, can both machines use the Schmetz needles? If not what kind should I buy and where can I get them? Thank you, Jan Sink
Re the bobbins it is the depth that sounts and some of the plastic bobbins are the same as the metal ones(I used to sell sewing machines)so as long as they are same depth when put side by side and same circumferance then another type will be fine. Ive only found 2 different depths in the plastic ones so I dont know which you have. Not sure what has happened with your stitch lentgh. Check the stitch selector is properly on a straight stitch and that the other stitches are correct. A s/mach technician may be able to alter it for you but yo can do no more on that.
