2000 malibu. Sometimes the engine surges
2000 malibu. Sometimes the rpm's surge up and down. Its not a hole lot but enough that i notice. It does it in park idling and driving down the road. It doesnt happen all the time but it will usualy go away when the gas pedle is pressed or depressed. I have no lite indicating a problem on the dash, just the tach going up and down.

Take off intake air control ( iat) clean out it may be built up with carbon. and clean were it mounts to engine. use a old toothbrush or similar to clean valve, do not push in on valve while cleaning. if that does not help much check plugs and wires.
