Hi, I am having starting problems. I am having a problem with my xjr it is a 2000sp model, i am the second owner, i have owned it for just over four years. It has never let me down before, and it has always started with no problems. When it is not in use it is in the garage plugged in to an optimate. The problem materialized a week ago. I was just about to start her up, i put the key in the ignition i pressed the button on the key fob to deactivate the Alarm immobilizer,which is a ( META 351A ) I heard the usual beep that lets me know its ok to press the start button. I pressed the start button it turned over but didnt fire up, i pressed again it turned over, but then suddenly stopped turning over,and the ignitian lights go dull. i pressed again on the start button, nothing. I have replaced the starter cut of relay the one by the battery that has 12 pins (part no ( 5EA-81950-00 ) This made no difference. I then replaced the main starter relay with a new one.the one with two small screw in bolts connected to the battery . Still nothing, apart from a loud single click noise, from the starter relay with the two screw in bolts.then if you press the start button again, nothing happens. When i turn the ignition of ,then on again and go through the same process and press the start button, same thing a loud thud or click from the starter relay, and the nutral light goes dull.
