2001 audi quattro tt had problem sometime changing gears while driving it would sound like gear box fell out. Wouldn't go back into gear. Kill the engine and restart gears would work. Why?
Couldn't get 6th at all. Now shifter goes into all gears including 6th and clutch feels like it's in gear but vehicle won't move forwards backwards no direction in gear My husband keeps screaming transmission is out. Please tell me it's just a button we can push

You need the transmission control module scanned for fault codes. I know the check engine light must be coming on when this happens, correct?
