2001 Volvo s40 seems to stall and not start for ten to 15 min. Also has high temperature reading that is false as car is not really hot
2001 Volvo s40 runs ok till temperature gauge reads hot and gas gauge says empty. Check engine said needed thermostat and cooling sensor so we changed them. Things worked for a few days and the problem resumed. Temperture reading says hot but car is not really hot and sometimes will stall. Usually starts but sometimes won't start for 15 min. Changed crank sensor. Still did not fix problem. I'm thinking there may be a short. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

You need to look at the temp sending unit it's probably faulty anthor issue with volvo is dirty throttle body's this raises havoc on the car they idle up down all over the map also you should change the thermostat too as a precautionary measure make sure it's the right temp for your year of your car thanx Chris
