2003 F 150 Cruise control not working. Has had the recall upgrade. That fuse is still OK. Brake fluid inside the connection on master cylinder. Suppose I should replace that switch? Can I jumper it, safely, just to test it? I've checked all fuses in cabin and engine compartments. All OK. Speedometer works. Brake lights work. What other tests can I perform. I'm a do-it-yourselfer, do not have access to high tech code scanners, beyond the O'Reilly loaner level
Thanks, Trevor. I probably needed you to help me confirm my suspicion about the switch. That leads me to more questions; Will I be able to replace the switch without bleeding air out of brake lines, afterwards? Can you confirm that the switch is in the "closed" circuit position, during operation of cruise and "opens" when brake system pressure is detected? Thanks, Trevor. If U use a jumper, make sure it is fused, or protected someway.
Thank you for the FUSED jumper precaution!! Great rationale.
