2003 rodeo ra 3l turbo diesel as time progresses its harder to start first thing in morning but for the rest of the day it starts easy. Is there something else I need to attend to
Had injectors done 12 months ago and glow plugs both new and just cleaned, all help to a degree but for only a short period then its back to hard starting or jump starting it

They last as long and fate allows. just like all things on earth.
but you assume you know what is wrong, and dont.
my guess is you dont understand electrics
they glow plugs can fail, at anytime. or.
so can the there connectors, end to end.
so can the wires.
so can the driving device, the powers them.
did you scan it first, no... so you know zero.
we use an amp clamp meter to see that all coils conduct at spec, current. if not, we find out why with more tests.(voltage drop tests)
why ask this, you dont have the tools, so why ask.?
the currents are huge, so can fail easy,
why not ask your mechanic, this,
he will charge extra to teach you, for sure.;
that's why I for all those reasons i actually connected a switch on the dash to manually run current straight from battery to glow plugs but makes no difference, the reason I did this was for the reasons you mentioned not going through existing wiring and have spoken to mechanic who is going to install the plugs that cost $100 each about testing circuit to plugs again. I used to do all this work myself before I broke my back but its too awkward for me now. I have had experience with electrics before and know that with car electrics even when I was younger it was beyond me as I didn't have tools or equipment, your info was informative and helpful thx. He has looked into the manuals and found that in a lot of cases there is a generic plug $60 and plug recommended by manufacturer $ 100 -- its a process I suppose the best way of putting it. I do have a question tho from your info with power going through the car circuit normally is the voltage that goes to the plugs higher then 12 volt ???????? Now to throw spanner in works as there maybe something else as this msg I add to it, this mrn altho not cold I went to start car it cranked for 3 secs then I put accelerator flat to floor and it started straight away, it has new air filter
well all fixed now, after glow plug broke off while trying to replace them and head had to be taken off, head and block where checked all good. the more expensive glow plugs put in instead of generic ones the car starts like it was brand new again ;)
Have the glow plugs checked, it is my guess one or more is burned out.
That really depends on how you drive, lots of starting short drives very greatly reduces the lifespan. So the answer is "it depends"
