Hi Eugene, The links below are YouTube videos showing how to fix a car that cranks but doesn't start, Also there's videos down the right side of the links that may help as well..................CHEERS.. Fixing Car That Cranks But Doesn Start Up
Smog stuff runs engine with computer. If it lacks fuel, problem could be related to sensors that tell the computer how much fuel the fuel injection should put into the engine at a given temperature, throttle position, and rpm. I had similar problem with starting and it turned out to be the coolant temperature sensor falsely sensed the temp too hot and leaned out injector flow. I learned you can do a diagnostic procedure with a code plug-in tool sold at the auto supply that plugs into a socket the manufacturer provides (mine under dash) to help find problems, . They have them that cover variety of makes, models, and years. It flashes the code like 15, then you look up in the book what computer says is wrong. Check vacuum hoses too. There's some help maybe, good luck. You might also have a mechanic diagnose it for a fee which I have also done when stumped.
