Hi everyone, I would be so grateful for any help solving my car's problem, I am losing my mind and hope here! I am driving a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr. The car has been in great condition except of the recent problems. About 2 months ago, the car died while driving down a 30mph road. I had it towed to a Goodyear, they couldnt figure it out, then I had it towed to a Lincoln dealership and they couldn't figure it out either. Both of them could not replicate the problem, the car started right up for them. When I tried to start it, it said "check charging system". Lincoln dealership inadvertently disabled the remote starter (Yes I know they are bad news, it was the previous owner). I drove it home from the Lincoln dealership fine with no problems. Lately it has taken a longer turn of the key to start the engine, and last week it wouldn't start at all. I towed it to Goodyear again, they said they can't replicate the problem and told me I should have the remote starter completely moved and then they can figure it out. I had it removed at a different place, and then drove it home. 3 days later, after not driving it all weekend, the car wouldn't start again! I towed it again to Goodyear, as now the remote starter is removed. My friend there said they still can't figure out the problem and even started the car too. They did get it to not start though one of the times, and he gave me the following analysis, and suggested I take it to a Ford/Lincoln dealership. He said: -could be a cam or crank sensor issue. while most times they fail, they give a check engine code. The car won't start because the crank crank of turning the key drains the battery and thus won't let the car start. This would require taking apart the interior motor. - could also be a fuel issue with the fuel regulator. *These are just his ideas, and is not positive. Has anyone had issues like this before? Anyone had a Ford/Lincoln that would randomly not start? Please help me!!!
