2006 Lincoln Zephyr - Static on radio with rear window defroster
2006 Lincoln Zephyr - Why does the radio go to static when I put on the rear window defroster? Just bought the car used and the first time I needed to clear the rear window was a couple of days ago.
It only occurs with FM stations, not AM and does not happen when playing CD's. Only the closest stations get through but with lots of static.

Check for antenna ground if corroded relocalize the ground.
no corrosion that was one of the first things checked..
