2006 Pontiac Grand Prix Command start The car has factory command start. Worked fine last week but this week the car turns over, starts, than shuts off. No engine lights, plugged in my OBD reader and nothing. Other than the command start issue car runs fine. On a side note this car needs repair every other day, I wouldn't buy another one
Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.
To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

Hi! The car runs and drives fine with use of the key, the problem lies with the command start. It's a factory GM command start. What will happen is I hit the key fob and the the car turns over, starts, and seconds later shuts down. This issue is isolated only to the command start.Hi! Check the small wires on the altenator. There are 3 or 4 little wires coming off the altenator. these wires tend to break over time. They will look fine, 'cause the insulation stays intact. Gently tug on them, making sure not to pull them out of the connecter. If one stretches, or feels flemsy, cut and splice it where it is broken.
