2006 Volkswagen Passat windshield wipers work sometimes, most of the time they don't. What could cause this?
The hood was damaged, so I replaced the hood with a used hood from a Salvage yard. The replacement hood had the hose for the windshield wiper fluid cut, so I cut the hose on my car. The replacement hood had a wire tapped to hose, my car had no visible wire connected to the hose on my car. Could that cause my windshield wipers to work sometimes and sometimes they don't work?

Washer nozzles
If you hear the pump going but don't get fluid, you probably have clogged windshield washer nozzles. Lift the hood and trace the washer hose from the nozzles back to the reservoir. ... Disconnect the tubing there and try the washer again.
