2007 0-3 Florida flood damage
Melbourne, Florida heat/humidity is worst in U.S. for latent corrosion & mildew damage to unprotected surfaces. We have a 2007 Saab 9-3 2.0 17,000 miles that was immersed in approx 2-3 feet of water from Tropical Storm Fay, enough to bring standing water level to seat height, but did not get under dash. (Motor quit, lights flashed, water puddled inside for days until it was hauled off to insurance designated mechanics. Engine would turn over but not restart, even days later.)
Would like to have an expert checklist of tasks that insurance company must have performed to assure that all corrosion/mildew preventative measures have been taken prior to releasing the car back to its owner (my sister-in-law). Special concerns include the seat-back air bags and electronics, including air-bag connector corrosion under seats. Unable to find factory technical support contact information (owner's manual not readily available).

Dan-
I am here in Melbourne FL with you. I own and operate Strictly Saab and would be able to take a look at your 9-3 and any concerns you may have with flooding. From the flood, I ended up with foure vehicles which had their complete interiors removed and cleaned, some with mechanical issues, and some with strange electrical issues. Feel free to contact me at 321.432.2034. Have a nice week.
