2007 Mercedes E320 CDI
I am a rebuilder and I am building myself a 2006 E320 CDI. When I purchased the 2007 headlights to fit my 2006 cara I purchased 2007 xenons with self adjusting. I could see that the shape is the same...but headlight plugs are different. I need you to tell me how or supply me a wireing diagram with colors to tell me how to change the 2006 to a 2007 xenon self adjusting...(my 2006 car did not have self adjusting OR xenon...)on the new headlights. IO have self adjusting and xenon....if it does something else I can not tell. Can U help me?

I believe you need to go online to the manufacturer of the new lights you bought and decribe exactly what you are doing. They should be able to give you a diagram showing how to splice in to the old wires, or at the least a step by step explanation. If they are self adjusting, it is extremely important that the right wires are mated. If I am not mistaken you need two tiny relays in there as well. If they don't have a website, call their technical dept. The guys are usually more than willing to help out.
I'm fairly certain as you probably know that the wire colors will not be the same, so you will have to mix. (Make a diagram you can keep somewhere for the future).

Well, the task is not as simple as it seems as there is going to be a complete change in the voltage discharge from your battery and also there is a variation in the stress applied on your current wiring in order to use a High-Intensity Discharge bulb. But, if your confident in your work then proceed to do so with the wiring diagram given below...

Ok, do you have HID bulbs, or do you have the standard xenon bulbs? The optional HID bulbs should never need replacing for the life of the vehicle. Which is good, because they're really expensive. This is important because replacing the xenons is easy. It's so easy there's no procedure.
The normal xenon bulbs are not even worthy of a replacement procedure in the manual, so the process must be pretty simple...
There's a rubber or plastic boot on the back of the headlight assembly, inside the engine compartment. The wires that energize the bulb go through the middle of it. Unscrew it from the housing, and there's your bulb. Install the new bulb(s) without touching them with your hand. The oils in your fingerprints will crack the bulb when it heats up. Use clean cotton gloves or a hanky to install the bulb in its socket, and reinstall the gasket/bulb socket assembly. The warranty book says it should take less than a half-hour, and that includes enough time for the mechanic to walk out into the parking lot, get the car into the shop, change the bulbs and drive the car back to the lot.
