Symptoms are slow starting (usually when engine is cold); rough idling; not shifting gears soon enough when accelerating; burning more gas; stalled at traffic light once; occasional smell of gas in cabin with a/c running. Mechanic reset the timing, cleaned it, replaced idle air control valve. No fix.
