2009 How to change the battery in Magellan Maestro 3250? It constantly tells me while it is plugged to the cig. lighter, do you want to continue on battery power (yes, no) with a countdown like when you shut the car off. After it counts down to about 5 sec. to shutdown, it comes back up and shows the map. If you push yes or no, it shuts down, the only thing you can do is just let it count down and come back up on its own. I have ordered a new power cord, on its way, and am wondering if the internal battery has went bad, and how to change it if it has. I am mechanically inclined and can take it apart and change the battery if that looks like the problem, but thought I should find out from someone who knows more about them than me. Thanks for any help you can give. Lenny C
sounds like a defective cord, but this symptom can also be the battery, if the battery is defective the GPS many times will not stay on even if it has external power, seen this many times, the battery number is correct as far as the charts go for your unit. Get the cord and if that doesn't cure the issue then do the battery< u don't have a home charger? if you keep the unit plugged to a charger all the time it greatly extends the life of the GPS battery.. sounds like a defective cord, but this symptom can also be the battery, if the battery is defective the GPS many times will not stay on even if it has external power, seen this many times, the battery number is correct as far as the charts go for your unit.
