It is likely to be one of 2 things, the starting relay is stuck on, this can happen on an old worn relay and the contact fuse together and don't release, the other likely cause is in the ignition switch and the contact is stuck and not disengaging. You could try WD-40 on the ignition switch and if you can locate the relay try tapping it with the handle of a screwdriver or something similar, this may work temporarily but you will need to pop a new one in if it is the relay.
I have had this problem occasionally on my 2008 when the vehicle is hot and it is over 100F outside with the AC running. Turn the key off and then starts correctly, but today burned up the alternator as well.I have had this problem occasionally on my 2008 when the vehicle is hot and it is over 100F outside with the AC running. There is a cube relay in the box next to the fusebox under the hoof near the battery that is often the culprit and it is too hot to handle. There is a cube relay in the box next to the fusebox under the hoof near the battery that is often the culprit and it is too hot to handle.
