Thanks Greg, I put everything back together with the original parts and have some function with steering wheel controls. No SYNC however and still no control at the main panel.
I had previously checked wiring from 4pin connector from main dash panel to CAN with continuity, the 4 p also has the 12 volt supply but I don't have an O-scope to check the hi-low signal out.
