2011 Ford Escape. Radio went completely dead, disconnected negative from battery for 12 hours and reconnected. Radio now powers up but is at high volume and AM 590 and unable to control
Thanks Greg, I put everything back together with the original parts and have some function with steering wheel controls. No SYNC however and still no control at the main panel. I had previously checked wiring from 4pin connector from main dash panel to CAN with continuity, the 4 p also has the 12 volt supply but I don't have an O-scope to check the hi-low signal out. I did try another unit with same results. Thanks Greg, I put everything back together with the original parts and have some function with steering wheel controls. The radio has lost it's firmware data. This may be fixable or unfixable.
The chip that holds the firmware may need to be re-flashed or replaced.
