250 or faster, i get a large black space across the bottom of the picture. i can't remember this happening before, i've had the camera for close to two years i think

Something is obviously out of sync. When you snap the pic, the mirror must flip up out of the way and the shutter curtain must open (actually one part opens and the other part closes). If any of these is out of sync, you will get the problem you describe. The reason it doesn't happen at 1/250 or slower is that the shutter open long enough for everything to be open and out of the way. Sounds like you may need service.
well, its when i'm using manual, and im so sorry, i meant faster then 1/250. because i'm fine at 1/200, but 1/250 and faster, like 1/320 its terrible, almost the whole picture is taken up by black, like the mirror. I think it's the mirror, because its a straight line. but thank you very much, that helped.
