2HP garage door opener, model 139.53640srt
The lights on both sensors went out at the same time. The door will open and close by holding the button in but will not work if you just push it one time. It was working fine yesterday. There are no obstuctins blocking the beam path. I was doing some sheetrocking in the garage and was careful not to go through any wires in the attic or the walls. The sheetrock is in place and has been taped already. I could use some help on this one.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU DAMAGED A WIRE. TRY RUNNING TEST WIRES TO BYPASS THE ONES YOU COVERED UP.
WHEN YOU DETERMINE WICH WIRE IS BAD YOU CAN SURFACE RUN IT OR UNFORTUNATELY YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE SHEET ROCK TO MOUNT IT IN THE WALL. - DO NOT RUN THE WIRES WHERE THEY CAN GET SMASHED BY THE SHEETROCK OR SHORTED BY A NAIL.
