3 clear of any frost?
Diffuser: Open, but feel no air flow Evaporator fan: Running Condensor fan: Running Rear vent and Condenser coils: Vacuumed Upper freezer thermistor: Checked for 16 ohms after 5 minutes in ice water Lower freezer thermistor: Checked for 16 ohms after 5 minutes in ice water Defrost heater: Continuity good Defrost thermostat: Continuity good a few minutes after uplugging and opening freezer Continuity good later on at room temperature 75 degrees The thermostat shows L140-30F on it, so is it supposed to be put in some hot water that is over 110 degrees to open it up?

No the defrost thermostat only need be checked at cold temp and at room or reg temp it should not show any continuity have u checks ur heating element out as well and defrost timer ? I still suspect a faulty thermistor the freezer has more than one thermistor?
In that case, heater thermostat must be bad. As mentioned before, thermostat had continuity when both frozen and later at room temp. I thought "L140-30" meant it opens at 140 - 30 = 110 degrees. Different websites have different interpretations for the numbers.
Also after running 72 hrs, opened panel to check coils again. Now it looks REVERSED! Bottom half has frost (not heavily frozen like before), and top half is clear. Just then the defrost heater kicked on, as seen in photo.
