4 port 2.0 high speed hub for mac - defective??
I plugged a 4 port 2.0 high speed hub into my macbook then plugged my usb modem into one of its ports. I was unable to log on. However my isp icon appeared on the screen, so it must be working. If I just plug my modem straight into the existing usb port on my mac it's fine and I connect immediately. Is the 4 port hub defective or should I be doing something else??

No its not defective. If you use your usb modem, plug it in to a working port. It is the default or home port of the usb modem since it was installed on your system. If you use other port for it then it will not work.
