46" width. A spring came loose and two belts jumped off their pulleys. I put the deck belt back on and reconnected the spring. However, I cannot get the drive belt back on. It has two guides to keep it from coming off and a can't get the belt through the narrow opening between the guides and the pulley. I 'm not sure what to loosen to open the gap

Hi!
There is a long rod on the left side on the deck. That is like a belt tensioner. Just move it and you can easily place the belt on the drive. To place the belt on the drive put the belt on pully and replace the rod back in it's position.
Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.
Thanks

You can either pry it with bar or flathead and re-tighten with pliers afterwards. You can pull off the pulley if necessary. Pulling it off may be easier to manuver.
