4870 Boss Smartvac. The vacuum tipped over and now the brush control lever will not stay in the carpet position. I can't get the brush to turn unless I push down and hold the lever. As soon as I let up on the lever the brush stops turning. Any ideas. The vacuum is only a month old
The Boss has a slide lever on the top of the power nozzle with two position choices. One position is "Carpet" and the other is "hard/bare Floor". The power nozzle brush roll is activated when the lever is in the Carpet position, and it is turned off when in the Bare/hard Floor position.
>>> Brush Roll Control. Flip this lever to choose between cleaning hard floors and carpeting. Brush roll is "off" for hard floors and "on" for carpets ut if as per this procedure vacuum brush roll is not working then try this troubleshooting tips as follows:---
1)
With the handle in the upright position, push the control lever further back to the hard setting until you feel it click. It does require a good hard push to do this.
2)
Try releasing the handle into the prone position as tho vacuuming and then turn off the brush roll. See if that works. If the lever continues to pop even after it has clicked then it's likely a problem with the mechanism itself. It needs internal cleaning or there is some blockage in brush roll itself.------------------- This should help.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.
