50 and whent home till we can get to the garage the next day no ploblems o the way home and once it ws cooled down the coolent levels were still fine and no leaking on the ground what could it be

Might have been air in the cooling system,even some sort of blockage in the heating system that wasnt flushed away completely,
but my bet was air in the system,some makes even have a air bleeder somewhere in the cooling systen lines ,the water pump is a pump and like many pumps if air gets in the flow of things the pump wont work untill the air passes.
think that was your only problem,but keep a eye on things like you have been just in case .all my best,Gary
I suspect there was an air pocket in the cooling system, sounds like the garage didn't bleed the system completely, just keep an eye on the coolant level, if it remains constant I would suggest your problem has been resolved. But don't forget, only remove coolant cap when engine is cold. Regards Mike
