55 cup farberware coffee urn
I have a 55 cup farberware coffee urn. I opened it up and found that the main element is fried. How do I confirm if I need to purchase a warmer element and thermostat as well? What should I test with an ohm meter and what reading should I get?

A burn out element it means the two ends with the ohm meter should read infinity number or nothing depents from ohm meter in any case you should read that the two ends are open circuit somewhere the internal wire is cut off. As for the thermostat you should conect the two points where the lement is conected and turn the thermostat if you seen at onhmeter that aroud room temperature the themostat open and then if you rotate it reverse just litle bit and the theremostat close then the thermostat works fine. Youcan even here and small click when it open and close during the turning left and then right at the point of room temeperature.
Good luck.
