#56 humidistat not turning blower and water solenoid on
Replaced 30 volt power solenoid on aprilaire 112 unit since it prematurely shut water solenoid off even with jumper on humidistat wire. New unit operates both fan and solenoid just fine with jumper. There is 30 volts to rc terminal on #56 post. Dial does click around #5 but no fan or solenoid operation . I jumped ODT terminal and this temporarily turns on red LED but no humidifyer operation This #56 panel is switched to power on board. Pot next to it is directed to "C" All units were fine last year.

This problem is common to a dirty contacts or rusty contacts try to clean it used a sand paper and resolder all soldered joint. Aged unit soldered joint become dull this called solder while good solder is very shiny.In circuit board trace the line connection with continuity test end to end of line connection,maybe theres a break that's why the current cannot supply # 56 the voltaged is trapped.
Hope it may help you;

Replace the internal blower
Problems we see ever now and then with humidifiers where the water will not flow, or the water will not stop running, even when the humidifier is turned off. In many cases it could be a bad water solenoid valve. Check the following before condemning the water solenoid valve.- Make sure the water saddle valve is not restricted by turning the saddle valve on. Loosen the compression nut slightly where the 1/4" copper tubing enters the saddle valve. If water comes out then your saddle valve is not clogged, and is OK. If there is no water coming out then you will need to replace your saddle valve.
- Take the compression nut loose on the end of the solenoid valve that exits up to the water distribution tray (not the end where the water supply copper tube enters). After you take the tube off you should see a tiny plastic orifice up inside the tubing. Lots of time I see the orifice stopped up with hard water deposits. The orifices are sold below. This will definitely cause the water to not flow in your humidifier. You can take a thin needle and reopen the hole or purchase another orifice to eliminate this problem.
- If you water flow continuously and will not shut off when the blower stops you probably need a new water solenoid valve. You can check to see if it is the solenoid valve or an electrical malfunction problem by turning your furnace power off or unplug your humidifier. If the water continues to flow with the power off then you definitely need one of the valves listed below.
1. I input a setpoint and then later the heating is off, will the E2
lose the setpoint and default to something else when it again receives
power?
If the unit was installed with a saddle valve, which is most often the case, you could try turning down the water pressure by tightening the valve a bit. Just follow the copper water line from the humidifier back to the main water line and look for a little valve that you can turn. Try to tighten this enough so that you still have water flowing, but at the proper volume so that it doesn't overflow and splash all over.
You will intend 50 down the send-offs of blower? If so when blower is located beyond you have 110V to go to work humidifier you you will obtain 110V??? You can also place the jumper through humidustat with the blower further and to see that makes.
